June 10 would have marked Judy Garland’s 90th birthday.  She is often referred to as “the world’s greatest entertainer” and with performances in classics like The Wizard of Oz and Meet Me In St. Louis it is easy to understand why.

The connection between Judy and her gay fans was unparalleled, especially for her time.  Grief over her death has been rumored to be a driving factor that helped encourage LGBT people to fight against oppression during the Stonewall riots just days after her death.
