a_610x408“Sex and the City” is one of those great shows which defined a generation and will continue to influence even more generations to come. For six seasons, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte gave voice to women everywhere as they overcame heartache, work troubles, and even cancer, one Jimmy Choo at a time.

It was so great that it did what something other TV shows could only dream about. It spawned two movie sequels and a new series targeted towards a much younger audience, called “The Carrie Diaries”.

However, Cynthia Nixon who played Miranda on the original series isn’t even aware of the “The Carrie Diaries”.

AnnaSophia Robb, the young actress who now plays a younger Carrie Bradshaw, ran into Nixon, and tried to start a conversation. “I was at the counter and I went ‘Oh hi, I’m on the Carrie Diaries show. I’m a big fan.’ It was just kind of one of those New York run-ins,” Robb told Vanity Fair.

According to Robb, Nixon hadn’t seen the show. “No. She had no idea,” Robb said.

However, Robb has heard from “Sex and the City Star” Sarah Jessica Parker, who originally played Carrie Bradshaw. SJP reached out to Robb when she got the part. In similar fashion, Kim Cattrall reached out to the new Samantha Jones Lindsey Gort. She even tweeted “So happy you’re playing Fearless Sam! The key to her is her heart. She never judges those she loves. Have a blast!”
